Calan’s newest team based in Radnor have launched a peer support group which is open to all women who may have or are experiencing domestic violence and abuse.
The aim of the group is to offer a place meet other women who have had similar experiences. It’s a welcoming friendly space for people to have a coffee, boost confidence and reduce isolation within the community. In the longer term, the group will offer opportunities to learn new skills through therapeutic crafts or come up with ideas themselves for future activities and events, or the chance to just drop in for a chat.
The first meeting in Radnor took place on 22nd November and going forward the meetings will be monthly. Local business woman, Penny Lowe of Top Tier Cakes by Penny attended this first session with a cup cake workshop.
In the future, the team is looking at offering support for male clients as well.
