One of our service users has asked us to share this poem which she has written about her own personal experience:
They say the things that finally break you, are the words caught in your throat.
And she has years of thoughts not uttered, or crammed in the pockets of her coat.
A whisper amongst worlds that realises she is brave enough to speak
where silence was broken for the proof that it is,
like that man who has, and always damaged her for a fact!
Keeping words in your hands when others will not listen,
do what is right and make sure your not broken.
Spend my whole life running away, for once I wish I could just stay.
Don’t worry what tomorrow brings, holding on to hurtful things,
The past is over and done for once, and happiness has began
