The 30 second-clip, which is being shown during prime time slots, shows the devastating effects abuse in the home can have on the whole family, and in particular children.
The aim of the campaign is to encourage viewers to speak up if they suspect someone they know is suffering in silence from any form of domestic abuse and violence.
Commenting on the adverts, the Minister for Public Services, Leighton Andrews said:
“Christmas is a happy time of the year for the vast majority of people, but it is also a period when many people feel added pressure, not least around financial worries.
“Combined with an increase in alcohol consumption, rates of domestic abuse climb.
“This advert asks family and friends not to stand back if they believe there could be a cause for concern, but to take action before it’s too late.”
The adverts which will run from December 15th to December 31st, will appear in the commercial breaks around popular programmes such as This Morning, Secret Dealers, Coronation Street and the ITV early evening news.

The team at Calan DVS are supportive of the Welsh Government’s initiatives to encourage awareness of domestic violence and abuse; and in particular to take action if they believe someone they know is suffering.
The advertising campaign is already having a lot of impact and we believe will help to highlight the issue over the Christmas period.
