Calan DVS provides placement and secondment opportunities, alongside employee opportunities.
In 2012, our volunteer mentors provided over 850 hours of one-to-one group support to women and their families.
These opportunities allow employers to enhance the personal development and working practice for front line staff through valuable first-hand encounters; shadowing experienced workers and engaging in domestic abuse issues, allows individuals' to gain valuable understanding and knowledge to support their working practice.
Secondment is a positive way of motivating people and increasing work satisfaction, whilst enhancing best practice, collaborative working partnerships, knowledge and skills.
The most rewarding thing I have done is volunteer for Calan DVS.
Our six week training programme is available for groups of five individuals or more, and offers a rare chance to develop a genuinely positive approach to working with domestic abuse.
